WET-LAB RESEARCH EXPERIENCE
2026
Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Dr. Yueming Li lab
Research focus: Investigating the efficacy of synthetic small molecules in promoting autophagosome biogenesis as a therapeutic strategy for Alzheimer’s disease
Responsibilities: Conduct RNA purification, cell staining, and tissue culture, evaluating results via Western blot and protein quantification (DC assay, CellTiter-Glo) for autophagy regulation and viability in mammalian cell lines
2025
University of California, Irvine, Dr. Abraham Lee BioMiNT lab (through UCIxGATI program)
Research focus: Compare lateral and vertical acoustic cavity transducer (LCAT/VCAT) efficacy in production of artificial antigen presenting cells
Responsibilities: Designed and fabricated microfluidic devices using CAD and soft lithography, synthesizing aAPCs and evaluating LCAT and VCAT performance through single-cell microscopy and ImageJ analysis
INDEPENDENT RESEARCH:
PUBLIC HEALTH
PROJECT 1: Political Implications of Polio Epidemic on the Landscape of American Public Health
Conducted independent public health research examining how grassroots civic participation forced federal formalization of the 1955 polio vaccination policy; authored 20-page manuscript with a focus on civic engagement
Accepted for publication in Pathways: Stanford Journal of Public Health (SJPH) 2026 Fall issue — check back soon!
PROJECT 2: Statistical analysis of COVID-19 Vaccination Rollout
For my final statistics project, I explored whether the CDC’s COVID-19 Vaccine Coverage Index could predict what populations had highest vaccination rates. As my poster communicates, I found that certain racial and geographical demographics exhibit disproportionately low levels of vaccination, suggesting a need to address systemic barriers for future vaccination rollout.
